FKA Twigs Releases Dark Music Video Ahead of Mercury Prize Announcement

Just nine days after releasing her collaboration with Google Glass, which she both wrote and directed, FKA Twigs has now put out the official video for upcoming single ‘Video Girl’.
The latest release follows on in similar vein to her previous works, with dark, cryptic imagery at the forefront of the production. This time round, it sees her affirming her deviance even further than before – a conveniently placed microphone just above her head allows her to moan the songs lyrics whilst straddling a lethally injected inmate. It’s as harrowing as it sounds, but it is stunts like this which add to the intrigue surrounding her giving an edge over the many alt-RnB contemporaries.
It's been a huge year for FKA Twigs and being bookies' favourite to pick up tonight's Mercury Prize for her debut album LP1 highlights just how much impact her artistry has had on the alt-RnB scene.
