iTunes Festival – Matthew Koma & Maroon 5
Roundhouse is a perfect fit for concerts: it’s big, spectacular and ready to welcome thousands of fans. Matthew Koma and Maroon 5’s concerts were just amazing. Matthew opened the night with his greatest dance’s hits. He created the right atmosphere for Adam Levin’s band. He said to Guestlist: “London has always been a place that has been very welcoming to me especially as a new artist”. Maroon 5 made the crowd jumping on the floor: they started the concert with One more Night and closed it with Daylight. Performing tracks of their new album, “V” and their greatest hits, they welcomed their fans with their pop-rock vibes, and their spectacular live’s impact and force. After ninety minutes of it, I just didn’t want it to end.
The Expendables 3 - Premiere
The new installment of the successful Sylverster Stallone saga, was launched on August 4th . A huge crowd waited for Stallone, Banderas and the other members of the cast to show up. One of the audience in front of the red carpet came from Australia! The movie was just what fan were asking for: a full-packed action movie, with a lot of humour and suspense. The large cast helped to create a perfect friendly atmosphere. The plot didn’t surprise me at all, but it was a perfect fit as a second follow up from the original.
Pride – Premiere
Pride’s premiere was reserved for journalists: the large cast was available to answer questions about this interesting film facing social issues as Homophobia and Miners’ problems in the ’80s. Defined by Imelda Staunton as “a beautiful movie about Tolerance” ,it manage to impress viewers easily giving us a gripping and funny side of it . We asked to one of the protagonist of the movie, Ben Schnetzer to share with us his favourite song and movie and he said: “ I’ll give to Guestlist’s readers my favourite song and movie: the song is called Clandestino by Manu Chao and one of my favourite movies is Angel Hearts”.
iTunes Festival – Lisa Hannigan & David Gray
Sunday September 14th was Lisa Hannigan and David Gray night at Roundhouse. The Cannonball’s singer enchanted the audience with her gripping and intense voice. Then David Gray started his performance with a preview of his new powerful album: Mutineers. The crowd started to sing and dance his greatest hits and he just showed that class is not given for granted on stage. It’s something belonging to great music star like him. About his experience at iTunes Festival, he said to me: “I love playing the Roundhouse, it’s full of history, a special venue and also only a short walk from my house. Back of the net.” And we love it too.
