For the last few years Hampshire's Boomtown Fair has been making a name for itself as one of the hardest-partying and most diverse festivals in the UK. Now in its sixth year and growing every year, Boomtown has now expanded to include a massive 9 separate 'districts', each with their own distinct personality and vibes. There are now 20 main stages across the districts, and a further 38 smaller stages and one-off parties going off all weekend. This latest expansion means Boomtown now truly has something for everyone, from the old school ravers jamming to the finest techno in The Bodyshop to the modern-day hippies well and truly losing their shit to psytrance in the Hidden Woods. There's even a wild west area complete with saloon, dusty roads and live country music, if that's your thing. Another welcome addition is Chai Wallahs area, a special combined acoustic venue and chai tea bar, which will be an absolute godsend when you inevitably wake up after a night at Arcadia complaining that your entire body hurts.
Its not just the diversity that's put Boomtown on the map, its also the quality of the line-up. Some of the biggest and most exciting artists making music today are being drawn to Boomtown due to its adherence to free-party ideals and world-class vibes, and the 2014 line-up is as outstanding as you would expect. Live bands such as The Cat Empire, NOFX and The Skints feature heavily this year, but there is still a wide variety of top class DJs and sound systems to see as well, with Mungo's Hi-Fi, Black Sun Empire, Congo Natty's latest dub project UK All Stars, and friend of Guestlist Digital Nyabinghi AKA Paul Ibiza. Boomtown also attracts legendary performers, with Bob Marley's backing band The Wailers taking the headline slot. Boomtown has been a serious contender for party of the year for a while now and - especially when you consider the world-beating line-up and the festival's dedication to providing good times all round - 2014 might just be the year it takes the crown. Take a listen and make your mind up for yourself, but we couldn't be more excited!
