Unsigned talent, Stitches, has made an immediate impact on Hip-Hop following the release of his debut single, ‘Brick In Yo Face’. According to him - ‘label after label after label after label after label’ are eager to sign him after the track's raging success. This puts him in a great position as a teenager in control of his destiny. At such a young age, he has the power to negotiate a contract with a record label of his choice, as opposed to an artist waiting a lifetime for a stroke of luck.
Since its release, ‘Brick In Yo Face’ has gone viral through Hip-Hop community site WorldStarHipHop. After watching the music video (five times in a row), I’m not surprised it has over 6.7 million views.
You can feel Stitches' energy from the get-go as he leads with the chorus. Every word spoken is with passion, and with the level of enthusiasm you’d expect from an eighteen year old. He performs at a relentless pace, in sync with the beat, throughout the video.
He certainly has an Intriguing, rugged appearance with the scarred tattoos across his face, iced grill, and big gold chain hanging from his heavily inked neck; features that help to define Stitches as a unique character. The amount of attention he’s receiving underlines the importance of standing out among a genre of artists, stereotyped for their lack of originality.
Stitches' appearance illustrates his assertive demeanour and serves as his unique selling point, a marketing tool which make the teenager’s odds of achieving a long and prosperous Hip-Hop career, very high.
