The 31-year-old rapper -- whose real name is Torrence Hatch -- left the prison just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Cain said Hatch remains on supervised parole until 2018.
Hatch first arrived at Angola in 2009 after pleading guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge. Thats right marijuana charges. He was caught trying to smuggle weed in prison and the judge added 8 years on to his already 4 year sentence. Since then, he's faced numerous accusations, including a highly publicized murder trial in the 2009 killing of Terry Boyd. Hatch was acquitted of first-degree murder in Boyd's death in May 2012. After finally being given a break he is being released early, although initially intended to be released valentines day, Boosie's release on wednesday evening was a long awaited event for his 230K twitter fans.
According to MTV, Boosie is expected attend a press conference in New Orleans on Monday alongside his record label. "He will absolutely be there," an Atlantic Records representative said. "He'll be speaking to the press for the first time, after his release."
