VIDEO PREMIERE: Meeting By Chance - 'Koi'
Meeting by Chance is a solo project of Marcin Cichy, co-creator of the legendary Polish duo Skalpel (Ninja Tunes), and 'Koi' is the first single from his debut solo album Inside Out.
Despite numerous previous albums in collaboration with other artists, Marcin felt it was now the right time to sum up his own ideas - an ecelctic blend of jazz, leftfield and ambient electronica. Marcin took inspiration for Meeting By Chance from a sequence photography by Duane Michals entitled 'Chance Meeting', comprising six photos of two passing strangers, giving him the idea for music that fills space with a magical soundscape, giving both the composer and listeners a brief portal away from hectic reality.
'Koi', with its gentle drum patterns and dreamy synths, perfectly epitomises the spirit of Meeting By Chance, and the video is equally as mesmerising.
