The Shamen's Mr C drags up for Satirical Reimagining of 'Ebeneezer Goode' as ‘Count Binface’
One of the UK's most recognisable dance anthems has been given a timely new lease of life, as Mr C of The Shamen rewrites & re-records ‘Count Binface’ for a tongue-in-cheek reworking of the iconic rave classic Ebeneezer Goode.
Retitled through a Binface-inspired lens while retaining the unmistakable energy and humour of the original, the new version transforms the 1992 hit into a playful yet pointed parody commentary on Britain's political landscape. Blending classic rave nostalgia with sharp satire, the track celebrates independent thinking, encourages people to vote, and pokes fun at political grandstanding through Count Binface's unmistakable style.
Packed with references familiar to Binface supporters, including his famous pledge to cap the price of 99 Flakes at 99p, his fictional origins from Sigma 9, nationalising Adele and his long-standing mission to inject humour into politics—the lyrics aim for political division, corruption and populism, all while inviting listeners onto the dancefloor.
