South London's most hotly tipped grime crew are back with a nine track EP that's set to cement their place among the genre's premier talents.
Comprised of nine tracks, including recent singles ‘Three IC3s’ and ‘Lyca’, new EP ‘World Domination’ forms their most expansive work to date and spotlights how far they’ve come as a crew since breaking through back in 2015.
Often grouped together with other breakout grime acts like Capo Lee, Big Zuu and Jammz, YGG — comprised of members PK, Lyrical Strally and Saint P — are defined by their boundless, crackerjack energy and strong on-mic personalities, all backed up by a penchant for one-line flows and witty ad-libs.
“It’s what it says on the cover. What many have been waiting for and what many don’t want to see. This is our plan, to be everywhere,” says Saint P.
On ‘World Domination’, they stretch their formula across nine pulsating tracks that zero in on their own, idiosyncratic grime sound. As well as aforementioned singles ‘Three IC3s’ and ‘Lyca’, there are four new YGG tracks, all of which see the trio ride experimental beats, trading verses across meandering, lo-slung garage beats (‘Lion’), choppy drum tracks (‘Caking’) and woozy, trap hybrids (‘Genjutsu’).
There’s also space for each member to contribute solo tracks of their own, with PK flowing at warp speed on skippy, throwback grime riddim ‘Grinding’, Strally taking aim at snitches on ‘Ratings’ alongside Mic Ty, and Saint P throwing out reload bars on monstrous 8-bar club jam ‘Any Violations’.
The EP drops on November 24. Check out 'Scooby' below.
