The rapper made history taking the awards home for an album with no physical copies, released to streaming services unsigned without the help of a record label. Chance has never sold his music at retail, releasing his first two mixtapes for free download online and Colouring Book to streaming services. The Grammys rules changed last year to allow for albums without hard copies to be nominated, and Chance won three out of the seven Grammys he was nominated for. The wins were historic because they were the first to be won for a streaming-only album. Colouring Book was also the first streaming-only album to chart on the Billboard 200.
