Tenor Fly was a massive British MC across many genres – roots reggae, dancehall, drum and bass. However, he was most closely associated with ragga and jungle and brought a unique perspective to the scene with his profound lyricism. He has worked with Congo Natty, Top Cat, Barrington Levy, Blackstar, Pendulum and many other huge names in jungle. Born as Jonathan Sutter in Brixton, Tenor Fly rose through the ranks of drum and bass to become one of their legends. He started off in the 80s with dub and dancehall tracks on the Music of Life and Sir Coxsone labels. Artists like Grooverider, Channel One Sound System and the Bug have been paying tribute to him.
