The unsigned pop-rock band to watch out for!

In 2008, Adelaide’s Heston Drop jumped on board the rock-pop vessel and set sail to journey to musical fame! John-Paul James, Jimmy Miles, and Michael Cherry formed a band after sharing a passion for the rock music and acknowledging their musical talents, these boys desired to pursue a new rock sound that would combined their love of classic rock with fun pop hooks, creating a colourful, yet full of attitude, style of music. Finding inspiration from The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, John Mayer, and Kings of Leon, they began constructing their own original music and quickly developed the band’s unique rock-pop sound. However, the band further progressed when the trio found their drummer, Teon Catalano, Heston Drop was complete and set to fulfil their musical destinies.

The band was up and running and with full force they immediately released three songs: ‘Shining Light’, ‘Calling’, and ‘One Way Street’, all of which gave the band the incentive to enter their songs into the APRA Professional Development Awards, and Australia watched Heston Drop’s tracks reach the finals. With the Global Battle of the Bands in 2012, the boys were confident and rocked the scene, achieving the top position out of 3,000 bands in the Oceanic finals, giving them the opportunity to travel to compete in the world finals in the UK. In London, Heston Drop deeply impressed it’s audience climbing to fourth place receiving the recognition they had fought so hard for.

Supporting fellow Australian rockers and attending various festivals, Heston Drop had firmly planted its roots and from there and they grew, and they continue to develop and mature with the release of new tracks, such as ‘Don’t’. This track is tight, with quick but consistent instrumental transitions and clean, edgy, and crisp vocals. It is a catchy track that makes you want to do a subtle head-bang.
