Late at the Tate Britain - Kurupt FM, Bip Ling + More RnB/Hip Hop | Saturday 5th December 2015 | Tom Tate Kurupt FM Late at the Tate was a free event that turned the vast halls of the Tate Gallery into Britain's most elegant club for one night. Featuring DJ sets from Reprezent Radio’s Dobby and blogger Bip Ling, as well as a few songs performed by the rather alternative Joey Fourr and a quick appearance from the Kurupt FM lads, it was worth attending just to see the art gallery temporarily convert from it’s normal stuffiness. As the Tate is firstly an art gallery there was of course, art to be seen. This came in the form of a series of portraits created by artist Reuben Dangoor, the paintings were of the biggest names in grime re envisioned as 18th century gentry. They fascinated all those in attendance and reflected the night brilliantly, a clash between classic art and modernity. It’s fair to say that the majority of people had turned up to the Tate with the intention of seeing MC Grindah and Kurupt FM perform a free set, their Koko show in February sold out within a day so the opportunity to see them for free at the Tate was always going to attract huge interest. A video of them performing was shown for a while before the crew burst on stage and performed for about 5 minutes, this was enough time for the crowd to get GASSED though. It also demonstrated how big the lads that started off as a Youtube show had become, that they can shut down the Tate with their mere presence. TATE BRITAIN GOT SHUTDOWN LAST NIGHT! FAKIN MADNESS
