REP showcased some of the hottest names to watch out for in grime music at the edgy Ace Hotel last night. Cadell, AJ Tracey, Mez, Big Zuu, Elf Kid, Faultsz, Hilts, Blakie, Deecee and the YGG crew were some of those that displayed their lyrical talent and with General Courts, Nomis, Alia, Kay-C and Jackdat pon the decks there was no shortage of beats for the crowd to hear people spitting over.
In fact the mic must still be cooling down following the amount of fire that was spat last night, and with more people getting on the mic than I can remember (maybe because I was a bit wavey) this really was a showcase of the rawest lyrical talent in the UK right now.
The passion and love for music was on display from everyone, it was clear to see that all the DJ’s and lyricists were having fun performing to the crowd, smashing the tunes.
DJ JackDat deserves credit too. Without him the night wouldn’t have been what it was, the man was spinning decks for about 2-3 hours whilst everyone was going in. There was an unreal energy supplied by the many emcees that kept the rave bouncing.
The night was sponsored by Roundel London and for only £5 on the door the paying public definitely got their money's worth. Attending the next event is highly recommended, don't miss out!
