Introducing: The Good Wardrobe

Other | Wednesday 4th November 2015 | Eva

The Good Wardrobe was founded in 2012 by Zoe Robinson with the aim of giving free advice and support on how to dress stylishly whilst promoting the cause of suistainable fashion.

Often the word 'sustainable' is misunderstood. Wearing sustainable clothes or shopping in charity shops doesn't have to compromise your style.

On the contrary, it will direct you to thoughtful choices, long-lasting garments and yes, probably a bit more effort during your wardrobe construction! However, you will never again need complain that you don't have any key pieces in your closet. You will end up having staples.

If you are fed up with fast fashion but can't see an escape, you can simply ask for advice on 'The Good Wardrobe' forum where its large community will be glad to help you.

Amongst the services they offer, you can find a personal stylist specialised in sustainable fashion, cobbler services and even sewing cafes in London.

The motto is to make your clothes last a lifetime. Not only can you make savvier choices when buying but also make great choices once you think you're done with your belongings.

Let's imagine that you have a pair of shoes you don't like anymore or are damaged. What do you do? ASk advice and you might find yourself with a re-edit of your shoes at a small expense - instead of buying an entirely new pair.

Or what about learning how to sew? Save you money and prolong the life of your wardrobe by finding one of London's sewing cafes; a great place to meet new people and experience something new.

The Good Wardrobe is also aiming to create partnerships with businesses who are committed to a more sustainable future for the fashion industry in order to donate money to selected charities. This is just another example on how powerful fashion can be.

Let's be different, let's be sustainable!
