With latest single ‘Kingston’ having recently debuted on Clash, talented alt-soul artist Natalie Duncan returns with her new single ‘Lies’, out now.
A collaboration with songwriter Hannah Yadi – whose own eclectic pop project YADi has seen heavy support from The Line Of Best Fit - ‘Lies’ was produced by Yorkshire duo Exmoor Emperor, who manipulated and warped Natalie’s original chords into this resulting summer R&B jam.
A sublime example of her ever-evolving sound, ‘Lies’ utilises distorted, chopped-up vocal samples and subtle, bassy keys to complement Natalie’s fluid melodies, opening up into an anthemic chorus of personal lyrics that reflect her soulful influences.
Duncan’s broad appeal has already seen her featured by the likes of MOJO, Q Magazine, SBTV and RWD, while she has collaborated with industry heavyweights such as Goldie, Magnetic Man and DJ Q, who provided a bass-heavy remix to Black and White EP cut ‘Oh My God’.
With an impressive ability to effortlessly span genres, she is an artist who clearly refuses to be pigeon-holed. With her sights firmly set on the future, Natalie will be releasing further new material over the following months and continuing to evolve her powerful sound.
