Hip-hop tackles inequality at Utopia: Live Lates

RnB/Hip Hop | Friday 24th July 2015 | Christina

Penny Woolcock’s installation at the Roundhouse gets a hip-hop twist on August 13th.

Utopia is a multi-sensory world where consumerism, gentrification, education, crime and social media loom large, created in conjunction with Block9. Some of the capital’s finest hip-hop artists will take to the stage for the Live Late event, fusing music, speech and poetry as they tackle the issue of inequality.

The highly respected rapper, songwriter and producer Awate plays host for the evening, which also features up-and-coming rapper/singer Amy True, BAFTA and MOBO award-winning artist Akala, and luminaries Micachu, who round things off with a DJ set.

Head to the Roundhouse website for more info and tickets.
