There’s no doubt about it, the grime scene is pulsing with energy, and the Newham Generals are dropping a bomb of their own with N To The G’s. Released via Dirtee Stank on May 17th, Footsie and D Double E have teamed up with bass don Toddla T, Taiki Nulight, My Nu Leng and Sukh Knight on a selection of five tracks that are steeped in grime, bass and reggae.
As well as featuring fiery tracks ‘Murkin Yearly’, ‘Levels’ and ‘Soundboi Killa’, the EP also contains a brand new, 2015 version of the Newham Generals classic, ‘Frontline’, featuring the original line-up of Footsie, D Double E and Monkstar – the three emcees spray fresh bars over the classic grime beat that has been a staple of the scene for almost a decade.
The Generals will be playing at Outbreak, Born & Bred and Glastonbury, and look set to continue their reign on this latest grime wave. Follow Newham Generals on Twitter.
