Five Nights at Freddy's 4 announced

Tuesday 28th April 2015 | Rhea

Whether you love it or hate it, everybody involved in the gaming community knows the name Scott Cawthon and his now infamously fast-growing success, the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise. Having released an entire trilogy since last August with additional talks of a movie being in the works, fans are split on the quality of the actual games and its story.

Supporters shower praise on the well-hidden and deep-rooted lore whilst opposers insist that the gameplay is rudimentary, overdone and that Scott is purely milking the cash cow of a series for all it's worth. So when it was announced that there was going to be yet another game in the series released this year, people on the Internet have done exactly what they do best: re-generate memes, argue endlessly and call each other stupid for having opposing opinions.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter’ is set for release on Halloween, making this final installment the longest in terms of development time. Scott is undoubtedly a creator who clearly understands the concept of supply and demand, as following the success of the first game he managed to put together a sequel in no more than a month. Four months down the line and we’ve got a fully-fledged trilogy on our hands, the final game in which has significantly better graphics, sound design and more complex gameplay.

Fans of the series are understandably excited about what Scott can come up with in the next six months, given what he’s achieved with the last three games in almost the same amount of time. As we speak, sparks are flying all over the corners of the Internet as fans debate where the story could possibly take the now decaying killer animatronics, but for now we’re stuck with a name, date and nightmare-inducing teaser image.
