Phoenix: UK dates and new album
Thursday 18th April 2013 | Varala
Phoenix is the kind of indie band that sounds like they are from a hip seaside town in California. But in reality, the quartet started off as a garage band from the suburbs of Paris. Since their formation in 1999, Phoenix put out an assortment of experimental indie that made them into a global sensation.
The band knew their last album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, filled with hits like ‘Lasso’ and ‘Lisztomania’, would be hard to top. But they seemed to have done it with Bankrupt!
In support of the new album, Phoenix will play at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire for a full house on 22nd April, the same day as Bankrupt!’s release. Although tickets are already sold out for this gig, you can still see Phoenix live at these summer festivals:
12th July: T In The Park, Scotland
19th July: Longitude Festival, Ireland
25th August: Reading Festival, England
Bankrupt! is available for pre-order now. Here’s the first release, a catchy indie/pop number titled ‘Entertainment’.
