Fall Out Boy reveal the cover for the new album. And it is great!
Forget cartoons characters or sad portrait of the band with sexy faces, FoB chose an iconic picture as introductory page of their new album Save Rock And Roll , an original photo by Roger Stonehouse. As they explain there was a big research behind this choice as they wanted an inspirational images that will marks their return to the stage and the beginning of this new journey together.
"We came across the punk and monk image on the Internet and it really solidified what we were trying to get across on the record - the idea of old and new clashing. tradition and change coming together. there was something striking about it. obviously this is an image that means a lot to many people - we felt like we wanted to be part of this conversation. these kids represent the youth, change, and irreverence that we hope our record is listened to with. at the end of the day we just want to take the rules and start all over with save rock and roll anyway." they write on their website http://falloutboy.com .
The new record, that comes after a hiatus of more than 2 years in which the band members especially Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump followed solo projects , is the fifth of the American band and will be released April 15th and 16th worldwide. The first song "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)" debuted after the official announcement of the reunion the 4th of February, placing with modest success on the charts around the world. With a picture on their website they also revealed that they are working in studio with Sir Elthon John. I can not wait to hear what they are creating for us!
