Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank form R&B Supergroup TGT!

Oh Snap! New R&B group TGT are set to take the world by storm
Have you heard the news? R&B supergroup TGT are in the process of making their first studio album, due to be released early in 2013. The group’s members – Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank – are absolute R&B greats (as well as hotties), and all of their (mostly lady) fans are literally giddy with excitement. Well I know I can speak for myself...
As good friends, TGT thought it was a good venture to form a supergroup, and to provide the “ultimate R&B fan experience”. Ginuwine made it crystal clear that TGT was born of a bromance, telling the press that: "Tyrese is my boy. Tank is my boy. I'm the first artist he's ever been on the road with. We go all the way back to 'Pony.' He was my background singer on my tour. Tyrese was my best man at my wedding”.
The group originally formed in 2007, but due to contract difficulties, the project has been put on hold for the past 5 years. Being signed individually to different contracts made it near-impossible for TGT to form and function, but now the group has a deal with Atlantic Records, and they’ve been given the green flag. In addition to a studio album, they will be doing a ‘Shirts Off’ Tour in 2013...mmm yum. Back in July 2007, Tyrese told us that “R&B just got a face lift” and that TGT were going to “remind ya'll why you fell in love with R&B music". Many believe that the output of ‘real’ R&B has severely declined, and TGT is just what the industry needs. Fingers crossed the boys can live up to their self-proclaimed title as ‘The R&B Avengers’.
With all the much-deserved hype surrounding TGT, I’m sure that their debut album will be a success, and I’m excited to see what they can bring to the table. Hopefully they will bring back the good quality R&B that we saw from the likes of greats such as Jodeci and K-Ci & Jojo.
