Cheerful Stickers Cause Tube Chaos

Or not. But the British Transport Police certainly aren’t happy about it.
The recent craze for posting novelty stickers masquerading as official signs has been attacked by the BTP who make no distinction between the humorous postings and criminal activity, stating “The costs of graffiti are substantial for the railway industry in terms of repairs and clean-up, and can leave permanent scars on the infrastructure”.
That’s what you get for trying to lighten the mood in the claustrophobic, Orwellian nightmare that we call the Tube. Some notable examples of signage that have been ‘improved’ include line maps that display ‘Shepherd’s Pie’, warnings including ‘No Skiing on Escalator’ and ‘No eye contact. Fixed Penalty £200’. Though if I’m being entirely honest, I think that last one may be official.
