A Pan-Asian, Technological Delight

Monday 24th September 2012 | Osh

On Saturday evening I attended a dinner at Inamo restaurant in Covent Garden. There were nearly 30 of us for a birthday party so already, finding a place that would accommodate us posed an issue. But accommodate us they did and with style and efficiency.

You enter through a bamboo forest, which separates the restaurant into private sections but with an elegantly modern appeal, a perfect aesthetic accompaniment to the Pan-Asian cuisine that you are inevitably about to enjoy. Even the bathrooms were clean and uniquely designed with the gender-bending logos causing confusion and amusement amongst a few of the group.

However, the child within was truly released with the interactive tables. A mouse pad is embedded into the table in order for you to choose it’s design, what games you might wish to play whilst waiting for the meal and of course, what you will eat for dinner. The most startling feature being that when you place the mouse over the possible food order, it appears as a projected image on your plate.

Yes, but what about the food itself? I hear you ask. Well, the remarkable build up of excitement is not to be let down. A delicious array of dumplings and sushi for starter and some amazing options including Thai curries and duck pancakes as a main course, but the real winner in our crowd was the Coconut Cheescake. Oh well, out of my budget, you say? Wrong. They have some amazing menu deals that will please both your appetite and your wallet.

Visit their website for details and bookings.
