HTC has unveiled two Windows Phone 8 handsets at an event in New York.
The firm has already experienced 50 per cent share loss due to the weak sales of previous phones. Despite this, the firm has come up with Windows Phone 8.
The firm has unveiled two handsets, one that features a 4.3” (10.9 cm) display, along with its flagship Phone 8X and a smaller phone with 4” (10.2 cm) as Phone8S.
HTC Phone 8X features 8 megapixel camera on its rear supported by a dedicated chip for sharper shots. The 2.1MP front camera - used for video chats - has also been designed to provide a wide-angle view. Both models include Beats Audio sound equipment which offers deeper bass and crisp vocals.
The 8X has an NFC (near field communication) chip for touchless payments, but the 8S does not. However, the 8S has a slot for a Micro SD card allowing extra storage, something the 8X lacks. NFC chip is also not available in iPhone 5.
HTC said the 8X would launch in 50 countries in early November across 126 mobile operators, while the 8S would be available in 52 countries with more than 146 operators.
The firm has huge competition from Nokia and Samsung, who have already shown off windows phone, covering different features of course.
Let’s wait for windows phone to come in the market and then it can be decided which phone deems fit for the consumer and which company leads.
