It’s always a pleasure to be able to write about the activity of the superb singer-songwriter Frank Turner, even more so when it is reminding all you readers about his upcoming UK Tour. Having recently performed at a packed Hammersmith Apollo and Wembley Stadium it is fair to say the Hampshire born singer's career is well an truly taking off.
I was fortunate enough to see him perform live at the crowded Hammersmith Apollo, in November of last year. Whilst bringing along a range of talented support acts that built the mood nicely, the undeniably awesome atmosphere during Turner’s set was electrifying. If not already considered a star in his genre now, then this man is definitely going to be a star of the future.
The tour will be kicking off in November, and joined by both Tim Barry and Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun, it is something i believe we should all be putting in our diaries. Even if you have been to see the ever impressive Frank Turner before, with the recent announcement that he will no longer be playing iconic songs such as ‘The Ballad of Me and My Friends’, it will be a good opportunity to hear some of his new material. If it lives up to the hype i have been getting from fans that have already heard what's new, there is plenty to come from Mr Turner.
The upcoming tour around the UK will be a good opportunity to lay down some new tunes, but also will allow Turner to promote more of his latest album England Keep My Bones, which was released last year. If you simply cannot wait for November, and feel compelled to see him before then, it will be useful to bear in mind that Frank Turner will be appearing at a range of events all around the world. This includes the famous V-Festival, held in Chelmsford and Stafford on the 18/19th August.
