Bloc.2012 Organisers Promise Huge Line-up in Response to Criticism Other | Wednesday 25th January 2012 | Osh Some dismay has followed the announcement of the new venue set to host the sixth Bloc festival, scheduled for the 6th and 7th of July this year. On the event’s official Facebook page people have demonstrated their concern that the soul of the festival will be lost in the proposed move to Pleasure Gardens in the London Docklands. The last three instalments of the eclectic electronic music festival all took place at the Butlin's Holiday Resort in Minehead. The lack of inclusive accommodation, a feature of the old venue, is a particular aspect disappointing fans of the festival, many of whom are worried about high hotel prices in Olympic period. Bloc.2012 organisers have assured us that the new location will be far and away the most spectacular ever chosen to host the festival, comprising “new, purpose built, hi-spec venues – some on land and some floating on water”. They claim this year’s line-up, to be announced on February 1st, will be the “biggest and the most diverse” that Bloc has ever seen.
