Snobs - A New Beginning

The oldest club in Birmingham has relocated to a new and larger venue, but has it kept the soul and vibe of the original?
Snobs, the pinnacle of Birmingham nightlife and the stubborn survivior that will always possess a special place in the hearts of Brummies, has had a £2 million relocation after 40 years of holding on to its ageing Paradise Circus home.
The new venue, the former Vudu Lounge in Smallbrook Queensway, has managed to keep the original atmosphere and soul that was unique to Snobs, as well as the sunken dance-floor and the innovative styling.
Suitably futuristic and a mark away from its previous, sticky throngs, Snobs is a brand new space to play, with toting chrome murals, those oh-so-recognisable plastercast faces (see photo) and a brand new bar.
The two rooms still play the classic set that you would expect of Snobs, with the main room churning out indie beats, alternative pop and rock anthems, and the small room keeping it bright with 60’s hits.
Snobs may have cleaned up their act, but as ever, their indie-inspired haven reigns supreme.
