The Return of Aphex Twin

Drum and Bass | Monday 18th August 2014 | Serena

With people utterly losing their shit over the Aphex twin blimp floating over hackney at the weekend, signs have been spotted across the pond in New York with stencils of AT's logo appearing on pavements. Aphex twin has been quite elusive and modest over the years, but has reportedly been churning out ‘orphaned’ tracks over the past decade. Fans have pointed out Warps 25th anniversary is approaching, could the release coincide?  Well theres something arriving this year so prepare to piss yourself with excitement as Aphex Twin returns.

With very professional looking stencils also being spotted all over, fans of the producer have taken to twitter to see if the rumours are true. With Aphex Twin only having 8 tweets I doubt he’ll spill any info on this one. However, if this is a hoax Aphex better be inspired by the fucker that got a BLIMP and put his logo on the side!

Not to mention the jerk sauce ‘miracle’ that also appeared on ebay last night…

It was only a few months ago that Aphex approved of a fan campaign, brilliantly funded over kickstarter to obtain and distribute his long lost Caustic Window double LP - completed but never released in 1994. Thousands of people donated to the cause, each receiving a digital copy of the album; the purchased test-pressing was then sold on eBay for $46,300 (£27,700).

With the Guardian labeling Aphex twin as "the most inventive and influential figure in contemporary electronic music" its easy to see why. For alot of us he was the reason why our minds spilled into realms of electro and drum and bass our little 8 year old ears had never heard before, which is why he has a huge responsibility for the electronic epidemic that waved in after him.

Who can forget his groundbreaking ‘Come To Daddy’ music video which in my opinion is one of the best music videos ever made to date. Im sure that fans that appreciate his sets and genuine artistic talent will be lathering at the mouth to see what he has in store for audibly and visually.

Whatever is going on the speculation is causing a party in my pants. BRING IT APHEX.
