Pharrel's "GIRL" is better than expected!

RnB/Hip Hop | Wednesday 12th March 2014 | Oxford

On the 3rd March 2014 Pharrel Williams released his first solo album in eight years, "GIRL". It features the likes of Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Daft Punk, Alicia Keys and great vocalist Jo Jo. The albums title is one of purpose as it's all about "girls". It's first single "Happy" (which features on Despicable Me 2 soundtrack) was a huge success and used on numerous adverts.

"GIRL" went straight to the top of the UK Charts & it's no surprise!

If "Happy" is too much of a commercial hit for you don't let that stop you from listening to the album. I'm more than happy I did! Songs such as "Know who you are" ft Alicia Keys have a great reggae vibe to it and the girl Keys smashes it. Before listening to "Call it Bae" ft Miley Cyrus, I wasn't to excited to hear what the pair had done together but I must say its a good song. It's not too commercial and Miley doesn't go over the top on it. "It girl" has a very N.E.R.D sound to it which I think we all love Pharrel for.

Overall it's a good album & I'm looking forward to seeing what he releases next!
