POKERFLAT PRESENTS: THE BIG BLUFF

Wednesday 25th September 2013 | Phil
Poker Flat returns to London for the third time with a line up more exquisite than ever, bringing in three of the finest and most sought-after connoisseurs of electronic music for a joint statement of pure delight and delicacy.
Taking over duty at the decks we’ll find Steve Bug, head of Poker Flat Recordings and the unquestioned master of Minimal Funk, alongside the French pioneer of pioneers: Mr. Laurent Garnier.
Known as for being a prolific producer, global DJ, passionate radio presenter and – finally – author of the great “Electrochoc”, this man has surely influenced the shape of today’s electronic music scene on a deep level and so have his wideranged, extraordinary DJ-sets.
Completing this musical dream-team is Berlin's Andre Lodemann. Being a DJ for two decades, Mr. Lodemann has recently served up a highly acclaimed remix for Alex Niggemann’s “Lovers feat. John Rydell” on Poker Flat, unleashed his unbeatable 12″ label debut on Steve Bugs Dessous Recordings, and is widely praised for his work as head of his own Best Works label.
With this massive statement on the main floor, it’s pretty clear that room two is about to demonstrate a more contemporary quality on the dancefloor. With our dear friends of Baalsaal Records rocking in full effect, they’re in for the thrill with label head Stubbs, accompanied by Spieltrieb and Ashworth & Aggborough on the decks. Meanwhile, the Berlin-based production crew FJAAK is working their analogue gear right, catering completely to the whole floor experience.
