Guinea pigs... a passion for fashion

Pet owners can now kit out their four-legged friends in an array of colourful outfits which are proving a hit with customers online.
Guinea pigs with a passion for fashion can stand out from the crowd by dressing up in a variety of accessories including hats and tiaras!
The more glamorous of guinea pigs can even pull on a wedding dress, while tanks tops and fun seasonal outfits are available for the more relaxed pet.
Based in Japan, Guinea Pig Fashion was created by designer Maki Yamada who wanted to do something unique in a fiercely competitive market.
‘Pet fashion is very popular in Japan; hundreds and thousands of dog clothes exist, but I had never encountered guinea pig clothes,’ he explained.
‘Our products are very popular; customers send us photos of their guinea pigs wearing our clothes almost daily.’
Guinea pig clothes range from £5 to £12 and have just begun started shipping to customers in the UK.
