Warming Up at Vibe Bar: UK Hip Hops Finest

It was a lively week for UK Hip Hop with numerous events leading up to celebrate the epitome of its growth at Boom Bap Festival in Peterborough.
One of the hottest jams was Hoochinoo's warm up party, upstairs at Vibe Bar, Brick Lane where fans, musicians, rappers and graffiti artists came to celebrate the legends of UKHH, Chester P and Micall Parknsun smash the stage.

Itch Fm DJ A.Gee and the lovely DJ Sarah Love span some classics (yes, everyone went mad at Rodney P's 'Murderer Style' and the vibe was exciting. Graffiti Life sprayed some boards outside and it really felt like Hip Hops birthday!

Micall Parknsun brought vibes to the space with his energy and barism, and a orchestra of head nods took form. His album Me Myself and Akai is a must, if you don't know, get to know!

The highlight of the night was Chester P hotting up the room packed with hardcore fans. Hosted by the lovely Peaches, he he had a warm welcome to the stage but completely came with a organic energy. He interacted with the audience, taking breaks to truly speak some realness from the heart and dropped some dope acapellas. His main message was "all we need is love". Indeed. If you are a fan of Taskforce (if not, check out their history) seeing the journey this artist has taken was a special turning point. With the beats blazing and the audience engaged, Chester went in with his lyrics, freestyles and of course, dropped classic UK remixes of 'Graff Da Bus Up' and 'Wa Blo' which got the crowd hype! He is shortly releasing a new Music From The Corner 5 which no doubt is going to have a important message, and from the vibe Chester was giving, a reflective and positive one.

Hoochinoo have really been representing for UK Hip Hop with their promotion and I look forward to more events to come. People were networking and excited for the Boom Bap Festival on the weekend just gone, and the scene is really rising with both its direction and quality of acts. In the words of Tupac, better days!
