Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles... Some of the greatest rock legends to have ever walked this earth, cultivating a following like never before with their unique sound and style and creating a world frenzy that started a new era in the evolution of music. But what did these particular bands have in common? They were all British.
Although primarily influenced by the American rock scene of the 40s and 50s, British rock went on to exert its own power and influence onto the world. Their unique sounds and image did not just help expand one of the most popular genres of music but emerged as a lifestyle that most people wished for. Fans all around the world strove to replicate the glamorous rock and roll ideology portrayed by the musicians and became obsessed with these idols, from their big hair down to their tight leather outfits.
British rock had a massive impact on different music genres, British pop in particular, for decades, and the influence is still on-going. Most rock bands today get their inspiration from those rock idols that set the stage in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. They are called classics for a reason; they will never go out of style and will always be listened to and loved for generations to come.
Being a classical rock fan myself, I thought I would share some of my all time favorites with you, enjoy!
