Oliver Remix Bonnie Mckee's 'American Girl'
LA duo U-turn and Oligee, better known as Oliver have been delivering their unique blend of 80's-infused, funky house beats to our ears for some time now. With a series of infectiously disco originals such as ‘All Night’ and ‘Dirty Talk’, remixes for Chromeo, Foster the People and Breakbot as well as several festival appearances under their belt, Oliver are well on their way to finding the elusive "beating heart inside the dance machine".
Earlier this year Oliver released their Mechanical EP on Fools Gold Recordings, showcasing the best of their savvy for cinematic, future-disco sounds and infectious keyboard riffs. Now the Cally boys have returned, releasing a collaboration with fellow LA artist Bonnie McKee (who is also Oligee’s partner). The duo inject the electro-pop single with a deep bassline and a flurry of club-friendly synths, giving it an electro disco and unmistakably Oliver-esque vibe.
Oliver seem incapable of producing a track that doesn’t effortlessly strut the line between infectiously catchy riffs and a cool, dignified idiosyncrasy. They are incredibly of-the-moment and are definitely one to watch out for in the future.
