UNER surprises with some quality Chicago House on his label Solar Distance

Most people associate UNER with the melodic side of electronic music and with this in mind, we were intrigued by the style of the new release on his label Solar Distance. Rather than melodic synth lines, the EP focuses in on jackin’ grooves with jazzy chords.
The four tracks on the EP are from Dominante who is a new artist making his debut release, and although little is known about this fresh talent, his music has certainly got us curious to discover more.
'I Want To Get Down' starts with sparse chords and shuffling percussion, but soon unfolds into an uplifting cut of Chicago style house with summery vibes and a party feel.
Regular fans of Solar Distance may be put off by not instantly hearing what they expect from the label. Those with such an opinion need not fear as the second track 'Akasha' is in the melodic tech house style the label is best known for, and with just a hint of euphoria, it’s a fine example of that sound.
The final two tracks go back to jackin’ with 'Let Me' perhaps being the jazziest track on the release, that falls in a place similar to artists like Crackazat or perhaps even Floating Points.
Saving the best till last, 'Question' closes the EP with its stabbing chords and rising tones that are perfect for any dancefloor or party environment.
Being subjective the track order is a bit unusual with 'Akasha' sounding a little out of place compared to the other three tracks, but despite this, each of the individual tracks are outstanding solo pieces of music.
