MTV Music Video Awards 2013 Nominations: Who are you voting for?

On Sunday, August 25th at 9pm the MTV Music Video Awards will be back on our screens. There is a long list of talent and creative geniuses to pick from but who will get your vote? Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead with six nominations. Here’s a closer look at some of the nominees:
Video of the Year
Well JT is definitely proving his absence from the music scene was sorely missed. Back with a bang, ‘Mirrors’ is up for ‘Video of the Year’ along with the dynamic trio, Robin Thicke, T.I, Pharrell and their ‘Blurred Lines’ video. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift are among the other artists up for ‘Video of the Year’.
Best Hip Hop Video
Full of emotion and a slightly love obsessed J. Cole, ‘Power Trip’ feat. Miguel is up for ‘Best Hip Hop Video’. Tough competition though, ‘Power Trip’ is up against the creative and artistic ‘Swimming Pools’ video by Kendrick Lamar, Drake’s ‘Started From The Bottom’, and ‘F**kin Problems’ by A$AP Rocky feat. Drake, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar are also in the mix of hip hop nominees. Not to mention leading man, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton with, ‘Can’t Hold Us’. Close call.
Best Choreography
Ciara has never failed to show off her incredible dance moves so there is no surprise ‘Body Party’ is up for ‘Best Choreography’. Ciara may however, have to dance off Chris Brown’s ‘Fine China’, Jenifer Lopez feat. Pitbull ‘Live It Up’, Will i am feat. Justin Bieber ‘That Power’ and Bruno Mars, ‘Treasure’. Let the battle commence.
Artist to Watch
The emotive black and white video has earned The Weekend’s ‘Wicked Games’ two nominations for ‘Artist To Watch’ and ‘Best Visual Effects’. The Canadian singer will also be visiting London in November so if you think he’s one to watch; well now you can! Iggy Azalea, Austin Mahone, Twenty One Pilots and Zedd have all been nominated and recognised as the ‘Artist To Watch’.
