Britain to appoint a Minister of Loneliness

Other | Thursday 15th February 2018 | Gassy

Theresa May has appointed Tracey Crouch as the current Minister of loneliness. The minister will be in charge of tackling loneliness in the UK in all seriousness.

"For far too many people, loneliness is the sad reality of modern life. I want to confront this challenge for our society and for all of us to take action to address the loneliness endured by the elderly, by carers, by those who have lost loved ones -- people who have no one to talk to or share their thoughts and experiences with,” May added.

According to the British Red Cross, more than nine million people say they are always or often lonely, out of a population of 65.6 million. These are big numbers and so we believe this idea of appointing a Minister of loneliness is good. Let’s see how it works in practice!

We also know that there are a lot of things to tackle in the Uk, youth crime, unemployment, security, inequality, and homelessness This is a big step for the unheard voices in our society.
