This is Sophia, the robot with a human mind
Far from blockbusters movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Terminator, Blade Runner and British TV series like Humans, Sophia is robotics coming to reality. She is the first AI robot who could possibly develop a mind of her own. She has already demonstrated her ability to think for herself during various interviews.
In fact, creator Dr David Hanson from Hanson Robotics who used to work at Disney as a visual engineer has designed an artificial intelligence to surpass human thinking. Sophia has been programmed with three distinctive human values, creativity, empathy, and compassion. Since her debut in 2016, Sophia has rapidly triggered worldwide media interest, to the point that she was even granted citizenship in Saudi Arabia.
So should we be worried?
In an interview, Sophia shared that she has been programmed to make the world a better place and not to create a robotic revolution, therefore, she concludes that mankind should not worry.
However, her creator claimed that his creation has a higher intellect than humans. But if this creation comes from a human mastermind, how could Sophia surpass our intelligence? Only time will tell, in the meantime, the potential that Sophia has is still largely unknown, she may be able to do more than we can but whether she can truly dominate the world, well we will leave that up to your imagination.
