Greenpeace remix the classic Coke Christmas ad
As Coca-Cola launch their famous ‘Holidays are coming’ Christmas TV ad, some fans have been stumbling across a slightly different version. This year, Greenpeace, have created their own version of the classic ad to show a more realistic story.
Capitalising on the PR guaranteed around Coke's ad, the Greenpeace remix highlights the unfortunate side effect of drinking bottled fizzy drinks. The video shows a series of festive scenes with a few subtle changes (look out for the fish-shaped packaging under the Christmas tree) until we get to the final scene, showing the famous lorry dumping a truck full of plastic straight into the sea.
The film’s final message reads, "A truckload of plastic enters the ocean every minute. Coca-Cola produce an estimated 110 billion plastic bottles a year. Many of these end up in a landfill, on beaches & in the ocean. Don’t let Coke choke our oceans."
