Growing up in a small town in Germany and faced with the boredom that comes with suburbia, Tube & Berger, aka Arndt Roerig and Marko Vidovic, looked to music early.
Having been at the forefront of modern techno for a long time they’ve now released a new LP titled We are all Stars.
Their 2012 debut LP Introlution received much praise and recognition. This album tries to build on their trademark club-ready grooves to incorporate more of a ‘live sounding’ indietronica styling. The smooth beats are the stand-out feature.
The record won't have you jumping around for 20 seconds, it’ll have you nodding your head for hours!
The album is 12 tracks long with ‘Dust Feel’ and ‘Burning Road’ being my particular favourites. Both tracks are great examples of Tubes and Berger's work. They have a reputation for dominating clubs and filling rooms but this LP is as intimate as it gets.
Smooth and beautifully layered with the percussion keeping a beautiful rhythm while not overpowering the songs other elements.
Perhaps the ultimate compliment I can give this record is that it can be thoroughly enjoyed through headphones and at a club, an all too rare quality. It's a beautiful record, incredibly well produced, I just can't wait to hear what it sounds like in a club!
We Are All Stars is available via BMG and Kittball Records and Embassy One on May 19th.
