Start Enjoying Your Social Media with Proofer!

Social media management can be a daunting task for anyone. Let’s be honest, everyone and their uncle has a social media account so it would only be common sense for businesses to capitalize on this platform.

But if only there was an easier way for a business owner to manage their social media proceedings?

Oh wait, there is!

Aeronautics and Astronautics student entrepreneur Sharif Alvis found a solution by co-founding Proofer – formerly known as TweetProof – which lets users plan content and collaborate with freelance writers in an effective manner.

All it takes is a single monthly fee, and SME's can address all their social media requirements without hiring a single person.

Never has social media management been so simple to do!

Sharif has reached new heights after securing an impressive £135,000 investment for the business venture, which he developed whilst studying at the University of Southampton for his Master’s degree.

Having matured the start-up idea alongside social media guru Oshi Okomilo, Sharif decided to take a year out of university to build and launch the platform, with the backing of seven willing investors accessed through Future Worlds.

“When I first approached Future Worlds a year ago, I was seeking £10,000 of investment at a campus-based pitching competition.”

“Their tutoring and advice has made me aim higher and secure over ten times this sum – it is incredible to think how far the business has come. I feel really privileged to be part of a unique entrepreneurial culture that is growing at the University of Southampton.”

“Businesses need a complete content creation, scheduling and proofing software package to make the most of social media in a cost and time effective way. It’s really exciting to now be able to enter this market with Proofer,” Sharif added.

So if you have a brilliant, innovative business idea, then Future Worlds is here for you, to cater to your plan, just like they’ve done with Sharif!

Future Worlds is able to provide exclusive access to events, support and mentors with a global network of contacts.

Sharif, who grabbed the incubator’s attention when he entered last spring’s Dragons’ Den inspired pitching event, was praised for his attitude and ambition by Director of Future Worlds, Dr Reuben Wilcock.

“He is a tremendous role model for University innovators and an inspiring case study of how Future Worlds is helping our entrepreneurs change the world with their ideas.”

But Sharif isn’t finished just yet, as he is currently hiring developers and marketing experts to build the platform, by recently launching Proofer Beta. He won’t be alone on his business journey as he is joined by a board of industry experts, who have invested in this idea.

These investors, many of whom serve as mentors for the Future Worlds incubator, include serial digital entrepreneur Andrew Doe, technology investor Russell Champion.

Tech advisor and angel investor Craig Martin, RPD International’s Managing Director Pierre-Edouard Harant, Accenture’s Strategy Managing Director Xavier Veillard, and start-up investor Caroline Arrou-Vignod.

From a gem of an idea, to a six-figure investment, Sharif’s promising business plan is now in motion to potentially break grounds in the social media world.

Move aside Mark Zuckerbeg, it appears we need room for one more motivated entrepreneur!
