Some Irish Perfection

Indie | Monday 1st July 2013 | Ria

Leave it to an Irish quartet to establish a name for themselves that means absolutely nothing. Incidentally, Kodaline is much more than nothing. The release of In a Perfect World in mid-June was a powerful start as a first studio album. With tracks such as ‘Love like this,’ ‘Pray,’ and ‘All I Want’ the album is a poetic combination of sentimental lyrics and evocative sounds. After hearing the tracks once, you will be lost in your emotions, as lead singer Stephen Garrigan's vocals and harmonies will pretty much sooth you into a pleasant sleep. Moreover, their music videos are refreshingly entertaining and a step-up from the usual 4 minutes of pouting and playing; the videos tell stories of love, struggle, adversity, companionship, soul-searchin' and all of that good stuff we tend to overlook. At the end of the day, Kodaline just makes you feel a little bit more hopeful, and that’s never a bad thing. Check out their album In a Perfect World and don't forget to book tickets to London stage in October.
