Alton Sterling was murdered on the 5th of July 2016. Philando Castile was murdered a day later, on the 6th of July 2016.
The following video shows Alton's murder and contains graphic content:
(Philando Castile, right, was a liscenced gun holder and had informed the officer, as per the law, that he was carrying a weapon and was ready to present his permit. He was murdered in front of his girlfriend and daughter)
This video depics the scene after Castile was murdered in cold blood for reaching for his driving licence:
The murders of Alton and Philando sent shockwaves throughout the black community this July and may prove to have been one of the most powerful catalysts in uniting the global black community, by way of the #blacklivesmatter movement. Black communities globally have taken a stand, protesting and shutting down public spaces, mourning, marching and demanding that their voices be heard.

Bristol UK:
and London, which held three protests the first of which we attended, capturing some beautiful pictures of the unity and love in the #blacklivesmatter movement:
Protests have also taken hold across America and Europe giving the mainstream media no choince but to mention them. The pictures tell a story of solidarity and unity that trancends race. However the coverage has been insultingly brief and we need now, more than ever to push for a global conversation about police brutatlity and racial profiling. The unlawful slaughter of black men, women and children must be stopped and the reaction to the tragic loss of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile has shown that we will not take opression lying down any longer.
