Huge new material from Loadstar, Break and Document One

Drum and Bass | Sunday 7th February 2016 | Arren

Is it Monday already?! Beat those back-to-work blues with these top new releases from last week.

Loadstar - Lifeline / Switch [Ram]

Lifeline is a beautifully smooth track with uplifting vocals and a mellow bassline, a perfect crossover hit once again from this duo. The flip side to this single, Switch is a heavy duty club track proving Loadstar haven’t lost touch with where they came from.

Document One - Run The Block / Small Steps [Technique]

The boys are back with another two killer tracks for Technique. Run The Block has a cheeky bass slap that combined with the hip hop flute and MC’ing leads to a dancefloor track with a difference! Small Steps takes the more direct route, but equally as effective.

Bassface Sascha & Feindsoul - Reach / Jungle Love [Audio Addict]

Bassface Sascha and Fiendsoul have created two killer tracks that pulsate with energy and good vibes. Sure winners from the Audio Addict camp, especially that wonky bassline in Reach.

Facing Jinx feat. Alexsia Louca (Break Remix) and Soligen, Type 2 & Vandera - Lost Soul EP [Fokuz]

The Dutch liquid masters are back with a killer Break remix for the Facing Jinx record. Both are get roller tracks with beefy basslines.

Need For Mirrors - Monument EP [Horizons Music]

Horizons Music welcomes Need For Mirrors back to their imprint with a wicked EP. The title track, produced with Concord Dawn, sets the tone as a slick heavy roller. The rest of the EP is in similar vein and takes things a little deeper.

Response - It’s Not OK EP [Commercial Suicide]

Three hench technical drum & bass slammers from this upcoming producer. Hailing from Manchester, Response has already seen releases on Ingredients, V and C.I.A whilst collaborating with the likes of Klute and Digital. Its his first solo outing on Commercial Suicide and it’s bloody brilliant.

Supreme Being - Savages / Jungle [Wild West]

The jump up producer is back with two killer tracks. The tight rigid drum pattern and intermittent bass is the tried and tested jump up formula that Supreme Being executes perfectly.

The Untouchables & Resound - Separate Reality [Translation]

The duo from Belgium The Untouchables have presented Washington’s biggest label with an EP of half time madness. Along with the Finnish producer Resound for two of the tracks the experimental works are full of cold and moody undertones.

Meloki - Standardz EP [Reformed]

A big debut from this guy. Hailing from Kent he’s whipped up 4 tracks of jungle epicness, taking all the right elements of old style without making it sound nostalgic. Can’t wait to hear more from this guy!

Will Miles / Velocity - No Love [LDMusic X Liquid Drop]

This release is a colloboration between London’s LDMusic and the Greek label, Liquid Drop. Stepping up for LDMusic is Will Miles with a hypnotic liquid roller with a bold bassline, whilst representing Liquid Drop is Velocity with a remix of his track Jelly Break, a smooth track with a classic broken beat and slick piano.
