Dolce & Gabbana sentenced to jail for tax evasion Other | Thursday 20th June 2013 | The notorious Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have recently been sentenced to jail for 20 months in Italy for tax evasion. The founders of the lavish fashion house allegedly hid millions of Euros from the tax authorities in Italy. The designers who have numerous amounts of partnerships and products have not commented on their sentences which have currently been suspended due to their pending appeal. The Italian authorities began an investigation round about six years ago as they wanted to cut down on cases of tax avoidance. However, high profile cases like this have only recently come to light. Nevertheless, it has been reported that it is unlikely they will serve jail time because the sentences are under the two-year minimum which is required in Italy in order to do so.
