Disco Picnic are popping up in Peckham Other | Friday 20th November 2015 | Christina Disco Picnic Peckham Smokey Tails Thursday 3rd December will see London food and party collective Disco Picnic kick off a very special winter series. Disco Picnic is an experiment in music and food that makes use of bespoke, multi-use event spaces, pairing them with mouth-watering culinary delights, premium drink and cocktails. Already with a slew of memorable events behind them, Disco Picnic showcases musical, artistic and fashion trends throughout their series, and always cook up happy and eclectic atmospheres that hark back to the free party days of yore. The winter Disco Picnic series takes over a never before used site, Safe House 1 and 2, which are situated on Copeland Road, Peckham. The two adjacent stripped-back Victorian houses will feature different artists, photographers, and fashion labels. The Food The food this time around will come from one of London’s most prolific pop-ups - Seth Troxler’s BBQ joint Smokey Tails. As three-time champion of the Amsterdam Dance Event DJ cook-off, Seth puts almost as much time and dedication into the kitchen as he does in the DJ booth. The Fashion The Club will be joining Disco Picnic as resident vintage pop-up. The girls trawl through the crimes against fashion, and the pieces that time really should have forgotten; sifting through the rubbish to find those exceptional garments, creating a range of pre-loved excellence. The Music By day Disco Picnic will begin with a chilled vibe, gradually upping the ante as the hours go by and the cocktails slip down. At a few of the events come 8pm things will switch up with ‘After ATE’ lineups featuring unannounced guest DJs playing extended sets. Previous secret guests include Archie Hamilton, Alex Arnout, Rob James, Citizenn, Lee Foss and dOP to name a few. You can find a resident mix from Anna Wall here. Head to the Facebook event page for more info.
