Superpoze unveils the second instalment in his three-part rework series, which saw him invite three producers to remix tracks from his debut album Opening.
This rework of 'Unlive' comes from veteran of the French beat scene, and a frequent collaborator with Superpoze, Dream Koala. Superpoze says that the two share a lot musically, with Dream Koala being the first person he asked to listen to the LP demos.
His take on ‘Unlive’ foregrounds the gloriously reverb-drenched guitar of the original and heavily accentuates the half-time beat in Superpoze’s version along with his own cavernous, power ballad percussion.
Dream Koala had this to say about the track: "We recorded this rework at night in Superpoze's studio, which is in a hidden cave under Paris streets. We played synths, drums and guitar - I wanted it to sound like a band covering the original version because his work makes me feel like I’m listening to an Earth or Mogwai record. It is atmospheric and meditative but powerful. His work is so honest that it’s like listening to a part of his soul. If you watch the crowd at his show, you can see in their eyes that they’re all deeply moved, the music just takes them somewhere else. I’m glad to have such a talented friend!"
