Indie Event Preview! Two Door Cinema Club @ The Lexington

What’s with Disco music at the moment? I hadn’t listened to much Two Door Cinema Club (beyond the mandatory ‘What You Know’) until recently and now we’re post-Daft Punk every track’s been discofied – I can’t even listen to new wave without hearing it, can I?
They’re at The Lexington July 27th playing to just 200 people, and winning tickets with Xfm is your only way in. You’ve got to give it a go; do you know what ‘Paste Magazine’ contributor Megan Farokhanesh said? She said Two Door Cinema Club craft “tunes that can operate as low-volume background noise or pumped-up danceable beats”, and she’s right. They’re faithful to indie rock sure, they’re a lot like Foals, but the 27th is gonna be rockin’ – expect some dancey post-punk revival from the Irish wonder kids.
If you like disco you shouldd've already entered; if you don’t then you’re fighting a losing battle and might as well try and fit in – this gig is your artificial afro but you might still be able to get away with chinos. It’s all in aid of War Child, check out ‘Sleep Alone’ underneath.
Tune into Xfm on 104.9 FM in London, 97.7 in Manchester and across the UK on digital, mobile and online at xfm.co.uk.
