Fifteen years after the multi-platinum Tourist, and a world tour spanning several continents, Ludovic Navarre aka St Germain, finally found his way back into the studio. A heavyweight in the world of electronic music, the pioneer of the “French Touch”, and a creator of sensual deep house, St Germain’s music showcases a subtle mixture of machines and instruments, of authentic roots and modern influences.
St Germain will be releasing a new album in the autumn, and he’s given us a taste of what to expect with first single ‘Real Blues’, which is out on June 18th. Composed, produced, recorded and mixed by Navarre at the Magic House, his Paris studio, ‘Real Blues’ features a vocal sample from Lightin’ Hopkins’ ‘You Caused My Heart To Weep’ and instrumental contributions from Brazilian percussionist Jorge Bezerra, Malian kora player Mamadou Cherif Soumano, Malian guitarist and n’goni player Guimba Kouyate, and keyboardist Didier Davidas from Martinique.
St Germain will be performing live in the UK on November 17th at the Troxy, get tickets here. Follow St Germain on Facebook.
