Having been hand selected to support Nick Oliveri and Boy Hits Car on their European tour, Yeti Love are now ready to make their mark with new single ‘Lonely Road', taken from their self-titled album. The acoustic-folk group consists of Peter Hamilton (vocals/guitar) and Dave Sears (guitar). After jamming together it became apparent that they had a harmony between them, leading to an infusion of Dave’s Celtic folk with the grooves of Peter’s Latin influence thus forming the backbone of the Yeti Love sound.
The band move swiftly through a wide range of genres, from Americana to blues to more alternative sounds. Their variety of arrangements and instrumentation keep the listener constantly engaged whilst taking them on an interesting journey. Whereas most musicians these days keep playing with standard samples and inserting effects, Yeti Love break the mould with their exciting experimentation. With Yeti Love you don’t just get guitars and drums; there’s mandolins, banjos, lap slides, the works.
Their music taps into different moods, occasionally switching paces from haunting moments to full bloodied guitar stomps and moments of ambience and uplifting positivity. ‘Lonely Road’ delivers hard, guitar strumming at a furious pace. You can tell that Peter’s experiences as a drummer have turned him into a strong, rhythmic guitarist. It really has the feel of his homeland, Galicia in northern Spain. Peter’s vocals accompany the driving pace accordingly, delivering passion, emotion and a sense of urgency. The two come together beautifully and show that Yeti Love can be both fierce and emotive.
